Not counting stars, there are 18 different types of 1880 $20 legal tender notes! You could spend the better part of a decade trying to complete a Friedberg number set in VF or better. And if that does happen to be a goal, then don't let this offering pass you by. There are just over 60 of this number known to exist. This piece, like many notes from the same consignor, was selected for its square margins and original paper quality. Looking through the holder, it would appear that two pinholes are the only thing keeping this from a PPQ grade. This note first shows up on the census for a 1979 NASCA sale.
