Vanderbilt Cup Race 1909 Pennant
Felt pennant with great image of early racing automobile and titled Vanderbilt Cup Race 1909. The Vanderbilt Cup races were started in 1904 by William Vanderbilt and were held in Nassau County, New York until 1910. The Vanderbilt races were enormously popular and the 1909 race featured all entrants using a stock chassis. The pennant shows a detailed graphic of the race car used by competitors with two man crew and a silver trophy cup beneath them. Pennant has a red cotton backing sewn on. Screen printed graphics and letters are in excellent condition. Tag on reverse of pennant reads The Reproduction Company 29 West 34th St New York. Size: 32" x 13"
