Middleborough, MA - Ch. 3994 - $5 1882 Brown Back

There was only one national bank in Middleborough. It was open from 1889 until 1916. The five dollar brown back being offered here brings the census for the bank to a total of five notes. This is the first time a note from Middleborough has been offered for sale since 1990. So an entire generation of collectors has never had a chance to add this Plymouth County town to their holdings. The note is an absolute peach. It has no condition issues, not even a pinhole to speak of. The pen signatures are perfect as well.
