Fr. 1197 1882 $50 Gold Certificate

Here is a large size 1882 $50 gold certificate with the Napier and McClung signature combination and a scalloped red seal. This is just a great type note. Very few large size fifty dollar banknotes issued during the 19th century can be bought for just a few thousand dollars. The example we are looking at here is in VF condition. It is worth noting that the backs of many of these issues fade very easily. This one is especially dark with absolutely no sign of discoloration.
