Fr. 1132-K - 1918 $500 Federal Reserve Note Kansas City

We are excited to be able to offer another 1918 $500 in the sale today. This was part of a last minute consignment of a few nice high-end type notes that we did not have time to grade. However, this has been in the census as AU for decades and we don't see any reason to disagree. It does have two tiny pinholes, but it is free of any hard creases or distractions. It appears that a single barely present center fold is the reason for the old census grade of AU. This is the first time this note has been available publically since a 1979 fixed price list offering. Our population data shows that just 14 Kansas City 1918 $500s are known to exist, meaning that not only is this a very attractive note, but it should be valued higher than as just a type note for the series.
