Fr. 295 - 1886 $10 Silver Certificate

An 1886 $10 tombstone is pretty tough to find as a type note. The note we are offering here is an Fr. 295, which is three times rarer than the more commonly encountered Fr. 293. The portrait on the front of the note is that of Thomas Hendricks. Hendricks was the acting Vice-President of the U.S. when he passed away unexpectedly in November 1885. One can only assume that his recent passing is the reason for the tombstone design. The note itself is a lightly circulated problem-free very fine 25.
