Obsolete Banknotes

Obsolete banknotes have been devalued and are no longer good at their face value.  They are typically defined as currency that was issued by any institution that was not affiliated directly with the U.S. government.  The term mostly applies to currency from state and private banks that existed from about 1800 to 1862.  A lot of these banknotes can be extremely rare and they sell best at obsolete currency auctions.  The best pieces are rarely encountered and difficult to price.  An auction is often the best way to establish the true market value.  Contact us and see if your obsolete bank note would do well at our next auction.
